Wallet Migration: What You Need to Know

Overview

We’re upgrading our wallet infrastructure by switching to a new provider. This change improves wallet reliability and overall service quality. When this migration happens, all users will receive the new wallet details.

What’s changing?

  • You’ll receive new wallet details automatically.
  • Your current wallet will no longer be active after the switch.
  • You’ll be able to view your new wallet details right in the app.
  • New users will not have to worry about this change as they will be onboarded with the new provider.

Will my funds be affected?

No. Your account balance and transaction history are safe and will remain unchanged.

Will I need to do anything?

In most cases, no action is required.

However, if you receive transfers from external sources or have shared your wallet details with others, please update those sources with your new wallet details after the migration. We’ll notify you once your new wallet is live.

Where can I find my new wallet details?

Once the migration is complete:

  1. Open the meCash app.
  2. Go to Wallet > Fund wallet.
  3. Your new wallet details will be displayed there.

What happens to my old wallet details?

Your old wallet details will be deactivated and will no longer be able to receive funds. It’s important to share your new wallet details with any contacts, businesses, or services that send money to you to avoid disruptions.

What happens if I select a bank that is supported by meCash but not by the new partner?

If a bank is supported by meCash but not by our new partner, you will be notified before completing the transaction. Our system will inform you that the selected bank is currently unavailable and may suggest an alternate option where applicable.
